Don’t Be a Meathead uses website blogs, social media, and more to educate. If we haven’t tried a means yet, we soon will. Words are great to describe and discuss, but we believe nothing compares to the power of pictures and even more-so, videos. We will have a large YouTube presence, so please follow us! You will also be able to find us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and who knows what else in the future!
Regarding getting the information to you, what will the format be like? Well, it depends on the topic. If we talk about skiing, then videos will be likely the only way to do this.
If we are talking about youth injury prevention, we can do this with many different formats. There will likely be blogs that would recap the information in videos posted on YouTube.
If we are talking about nutrition, we may have a podcast with a blog to cover the main topics of the discussion.
If we are talking about concussions and youth sports, we may post lectures, interviews, blog this topic, and more.
Let’s say we are covering an exercise being performed in the gym and we believe there is a better way… This may just be a format we follow…
- Demonstration of common gym exercise performed by someone
- Discussion of the reasoning as to why the person is performing the exercise
- As per review of the exercise by Dr. Manison (and occasional guest specialists), what is actually being trained
- Discussion of the risks and potential injuries that could be acquired by performing the exercise incorrectly (as is).
- Education on exercise(s) to help person achieve desired results
- Comparison of what was being done to what is being done now. This is like a review
- End with something positive and to the effect of training the proper way….and DBAM (each video should end with the same sign-off)
So, it’s easy enough to say that we’ll be using a multitude of formats to help educate.
The gloves are off and we’ll use whatever formats we need to use to help convey the information needed to help you! 😉
